Vol II - Safari Birthday Boys
Safari Birthday Boys celebrates the memories with make with the people we love. The first half of Vol II consists of a physical painting inspired by a Safari Birthday Trip in Autumn 2021. This graffiti on canvas mural was divided into three parts and minted into 3 unique NFTs. The painting celebrates the memories made on this trip.
The second half of Vol II is a tailor-made jean jacket that was brought onto this trip and turned into a unique work of art thanks to a women’s sewing cooperative in Stonetown, a talented artist named Kiloko, and a Maasai village. The inside was lined with colorful Kitenge fabric, the back was painted with the face of a pre-Maasai lady. On the front of the jean jacket, hearts were beaded to symbolize love. I told the village to bead anything and the ladies beaded a heart. The interpretation here came after the art was made. This jean jacket was made with a lot of love and gets a lot of compliments was digitized and divided into 2 unique NFTs.

Vargas Island is an island located near Tofino on Ahousat territory. Vargas island is also known to be Wolf territory. It is also known to have some great surfable waves. The first half of Vargas Island Wolf gang captures the memories of taking a friend on a water taxi to a remote island to hike through forests and shred some gnar on some pristine beaches where we had the fortune of coming across a pair of wolves. This memory was painted/graffiti’d onto canvas. The mural was divided into three parts and minted into 3 unique NFTs.
During my time spent in Tofino I was able to connect with a talented young Tlaoquiaht nation artist. I gave her an old Loro Piana raincoat to paint on and full creative control. She decided to paint a Wolf sitting upon an eagle. Everything came full circle thanks to the wolves. To locals, wolves represent loyalty, strong family ties, good communication, education, understanding, and intelligence. This beautiful coat was digitized and divided into 2 unique NFTs.
